Sue’s Lone Star

May 12, 2007

My sister-in-law is getting married today. This is the queen sized Lone Star that she will be receiving from my family at the reception. The star was pieced by Debra Spincic and I added the borders and did the quilting. Debra also embroidered the label on her new machine.

Enjoy the eye candy!

  1. Beautiful quilt! Debra did a lovely job of piecing it and, once again, your quilting knocked my socks off.

  2. It’s beautiful. I was wondering what happened with that top. Great work-enjoy your weekend

  3. What a beautiful quilt! Debra’s piecing and your quilting are perfect together.

  4. What a beauty! Our teamwork really was outstanding on this one!!

(Deb, you need to clip the threads between the words on the label. I didn’t do it because I wanted to get the label to you speedily but those are “jump stitches” and are meant to be clipped. The label will be prettier and the words will not unravel. If you have already wrapped it, maybe you can do it when it is unwrapped!)

  5. I love those feather wreaths with the stars in the center. Your quilting perfectly compliments Deb’s piecing. This one is sure to become a family heirloom.

  6. Wow! The quilt is absolutely beautiful. Deb, you have outdone yourself again with your quilting. The feathers and star within the circle are a lovely compliment to the lonestar itself. The borders are great as well and brings it all together. The lonestar is amazing and the colors are terrific. The embrodered label is lovely. There is no doubt the wedding couple will cherish this quilt.

  7. When Susan saw this quilt she said it was too beautiful to be used. I told her you wanted it to be used. It will set off that beautiful cherry bedroom set that was her grandmothers. What a talent you have Deb. Ila
