Quiltfest 2006

July 24, 2006

The New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild had a very nice show this last weekend. Quiltfest 2006 ran for 3 days and included over 100 quilts. It was very busy and included visitors from every walk of life. That is one thing that is so cool about quilts- they touch everyone’s life! I enjoyed walking through the show and talking to so many people about all of the wonderful quilts. I decided that they all deserved a ribbon!

The quilt that took Best of Show was a delightful redition of Texas motifs. It was very creative and had incredible attention to detail.

A Look Through Time, the quilt I helped some students make took 3rd place in the group wall hanging catagory- Woo-hoo!!
And Dresden Plate won a second place ribbon in the mixed techique wall hanging catagory- double Woo-hoo!!

  1. Hey! Congratulations on the ribbons for the students and also for your Dresden Plate, which was beautiful!

  2. Congrats on your ribbons (your Dresden Plate was beautiful!) The Texas motif winner looks great… but where are the bluebells?

  3. Congratulations Deb. You Deserve them! They are great quilts!

  4. Wow, I knew Dresden Plate was a winner! Your students did a great job, congrats to them. I had to share your blog with a friend so she and her husband could see that Texas quilt.
